60-year-old man dies in crosswalk crash

(FOX40.COM) – A 60-year-old man from Roseville died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the crosswalk on his bicycle on Tuesday morning in Placer County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at around 10:44 a.m., emergency crews responded to a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian accident on the westbound Interstate 80 ramp from southbound Riverside Boulevard.

CHP said the bicyclist was struck by a silver 2021 Toyota Camry, which was being driven by a 55-year-old man from Citrus Heights. The bicyclist died at the scene.

At this time, it is unknown if the DUI was a factor in the crash, CHP said.

This remains an active investigation.
