CALEXICO — The Calexico Recreation Department is inviting the community to an evening of art and culture with the conference “Elias + Fontes Art Collection: Contemporary Art on the Border” on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Carmen Durazo Cultural Arts Center.
The event will highlight selections from a remarkable collection of more than 670 works of modern and contemporary art gathered over the past 17 years. The presentation, which will be conducted in Spanish, is free to the public and will include light refreshments.
Organizers encourage residents to bring friends and family for an inspiring night that celebrates creativity and cultural expression in the border community.
The conference will take place at the Carmen Durazo Cultural Arts Center, located at 421 Heffernan Avenue in Calexico.
