Chiefs HC Andy Reid spotlights two rookie standouts after Week 4

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to reporters on Monday via Zoom to discuss the progress of two rookie standouts after last Sunday’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

“So both of them have gotten a little bit more time in these last weeks, I know offensively, (Matt Nagy) is just trying to increase (Brashard) Smith’s reps every week and putting him in positions where he can do some things. He seems to be handling it good.” said Reid, “Then (Nohl) Williams, likewise, (Steve Spagnuolo) has put him in a little bit bigger role every week, and he seems to be stepping up. I know he had a couple of nice physical plays in there. He’s played with some pretty good receivers, so I liked what I saw there.”

The extra playing time for Smith and Williams has benefited the team and their development. Reid’s early confidence could solidify their roles, especially for Williams, while Kristian Fulton works his way back from injury.

Reid, during last Sunday’s game, became the only head coach in league history to have coached at least 200 games with two different franchises. He had 225 games with the Philadelphia Eagles and achieved number 200 last Sunday with Kansas City.
