The Cleveland Browns have one of the NFL’s worst offenses through three weeks, and a major reason for that is a lack of explosive plays, and a lack of a downfield passing game in general. Quarterback Joe Flacco ranks last in the league in yards per attempt and has completed only two passes beyond 20 yards. Undrafted rookie free agent Isaiah Bond has been open for some big plays, especially this past week against the Green Bay Packers, but through no fault of his own, the Browns haven’t been able to capitalize.
Bond has legit 4.3 speed, and that’s evident from watching him on film. He accelerates quickly out of his stance and can outrun most any defensive back down the field. He’s gradually picking up more of the offense and developing as a route runner. He may not be getting many targets, but he is playing a lot; he was on the field for 43 out of 66 offensive snaps against Green Bay, signifying that the offensive coaching staff trusts him to play a large role.
