EWA BEACH (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii’s Lotte Championship is set to tee off at Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach on Wednesday.
The LPGA tournament features 120 golfers competing for a $3 million dollar prize purse.
Punahou grad Allisen Corpuz is in the mix. She won the U.S. Open two years ago and the Rolex Rankings have her at 61 right now.
She tells us she’s ready to play in the islands again.
“Just the exposure that we have and how global the tour is, you just meet so many great people out here and yeah coming home too its nice to just feel really comfortable at home and also just I mean I grew up watching this event so it really is like wow I’m the one playing now, it really is a full circle moment for me to be back,” said 2023 U.S. Women’s Open Winner, Allisen Corpuz.
And keep an eye out for two other Punahou golfers graduate Mariel Galdiano and current sophomore Alexa Takai.
Defending champ A Lim Kim, of Korea, won last year with a score of 18 under.
She tees off Wednesday at 12:14 p.m.
