Former Colts’ RB Khalil Herbert reportedly signs with new team

A recently released Colts’ running back reportedly signs with a new team.

A recently released Indianapolis Colts running back has landed with a new team.

According to the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Khalil Herbert is planning to sign with the Seattle Seahawks‘ practice squad.

Following the Colts‘ Week 1 win over Miami, Indianapolis released Herbert from their practice squad after adding running back Ameer Abdullah.

The Colts signed Herbert early on in the free agency process this past spring. He was supposed to compete for the backup running back role.

However, in the draft, the Colts added DJ Giddens. An injury in training camp then limited Herbert’s opportunities over the summer. Tyler Goodson also capitalized on the opportunities that came his way.

Herbert appeared in just one preseason game with the Colts, their opener against Baltimore, and carried the ball seven times for 29 yards with a touchdown, according to PFF.

Herbert was released during roster cutdowns before briefly spending some time on the Colts’ practice squad.

Monday Night Football thread: Jared Goff takes on Lamar Jackson

0

The 1-1 Baltimore Ravens host the 1-1 Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football. Detroit is off a 52-21 thumping of the Chicago Bears, where they were gifted the ball in plus territory or advantageous situations thanks to Caleb Williams. The week prior, the Lions looked hopeless against the Green Bay Packers.

The Lions averaged 3.8 yards per play against Green Bay and couldn’t run the ball. Will we see the same road woes in Baltimore tonight?

The Ravens should be undefeated if not for a collapse against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. Baltimore averaged 8.6 yards per play, scored 40 points, but lost thanks to some spotty defense and a Derrick Henry fumble.

Everyone is expecting tonight to be higher scoring. There will be plenty of firepower on both sides of the ball. There are also enough injuries on both sides that could lead to big plays.

I’ll take Lamar Jackson at home to put on a show, 30-23.

Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Dawand Jones is helped off the field against the Green Bay Packers in the first half of play. Joshua Gunter, cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns suddenly have a big, gaping hole at left tackle where “Big Thanos” used to be, and they might have to embark on a search for their left tackle of the future.

Browns third-year left tackle Dawand Jones, who actually started Sunday’s 13-10 victory over the Packers on the right side in place of All-Pro Jack Conklin (elbow), suffered a season-ending knee injury on the fourth play of the game and will undergo surgery.
