Une préparation d’avant-match en mode team-building dans un sauna pas comme les autres pour les joueurs de l’AS Monaco. Attendus à Bruges mercredi après-midi pour la conférence de presse et l’entraînement de veille de match de Ligue des champions, les Monégasques ont finalement été cloués au sol à l’aéroport de Nice par une panne de climatisation dans leur avion.
Et qui dit panne de clim dit chaleur à bord. Dans l’attente d’une réparation qui n’arrivera jamais, les joueurs ont fini par se déshabiller : certains étaient torse nu, d’autres ont carrément opté pour le mode caleçon.
L’AS Monaco n’a donc pas pu décoller et pris la décision de rester à La Turbie mercredi. Adi Hütter y a improvisé une conférence de presse et minimisé l’imprévu, qui forcera tout de même ses joueurs à encaisser un vol et un match de C1 dans la même journée. « Nous sommes professionnels, a-t-il dit. Nous devons changer le programme. Nous allons voler demain à Bruges et nous préparer au mieux. Nous avons fait la même chose contre Auxerre. »
AS Monaco’s Denis Zakaria suffers injury blow
AS Monaco have suffered a blow on the eve of the start of their UEFA Champions League campaign. Manager Adi Hutter revealed on Wednesday night that the club captain had suffered an adductor injury in training earlier that day. He is expected to miss several weeks of action, although he must undergo further tests before an exact timeframe can be put on his return.
Zakaria will therefore miss Monaco’s Champions League opener, against Club Brugge, on Thursday night. It is a blow for Monaco, who are now left a little short in midfield. Aleksandr Golovin, one of the players capable of dropping deeper to compensate for absences, is out himself. Hutter confirmed that the Russian will also be out for around one month.

Hjulmand bei Tella optimistisch für Sonntag
Nathan Tella wird Bayer Leverkusen voraussichtlich nicht lange fehlen. Wie Cheftrainer Kasper Hjulmand auf der Pressekonferenz vor dem Champions-League-Duell mit Kopenhagen erklärte, könnte eine Rückkehr des Offensivmannes, der einen Schlag aufs Knie bekommen hatte, bereits am kommenden Wochenende erfolgen.
„Bei Nathan glauben wir an eine kurzfristige Sache“, so Hjulmand, der mit Blick auf die Bundesliga-Partie gegen Borussia Mönchengladbach anmerkte: „Wir sind für Sonntag optimistisch. Aber wir warten ab.“
Abgesehen von Tella und Exequiel Palacios (Muskelsehnenverletzung) sind „alle anderen bereit“, wie der dänische Coach zu Protokoll gab. Ob es nach dem 3:1-Erfolg gegen Eintracht Frankfurt Änderungen zwecks Rotation geben wird, ließ Hjulmand offen: „Wir nehmen ein Spiel in den Fokus und dann schauen wir, was im nächsten Spiel passiert. Aber natürlich muss Rotation in die Mannschaft“, stellte der 53-Jährige klar. „Wir haben einen super Kader und alle Spieler sind vorbereitet, um Spiele zu spielen.“
