Chris Pratt’s Terrible Audition Almost Cost Him ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Role

0

Chris Pratt almost missed his chance to become a Marvel superhero because of a terrible audition for another movie. In an interview with Esquire, Pratt explained that he once auditioned for a G.I. Joe film and it went really badly.

“Halfway through the audition, I saw the director’s eyes just glaze over,” he said. He realized it was probably because he was out of shape and didn’t look like a typical action hero.

After that experience, Pratt was hesitant to take another big role. He even initially turned down Guardians of the Galaxy, according to the interview, because he didn’t want to “embarrass myself” like he did during the G.I. Joe audition.

WAUNAKEE, Wis. (WMTV) – It was a reunion fit for Badgers legends.

Former Mendota Gridiron Club members, Badgers fans and UW sports legends got together Sunday evening for a reunion at Rex’s Innkeeper restaurant in Waunakee.

The reunion featured old friends reminiscing on proud football moments and watching past Rose Bowl highlights.

Among the attendees were Mendota Gridiron Club Executive Director Wayne Esser and former UW Athletic Directors Pat Richter and Barry Alvarez, who also served as head coach for the team from 1990 to 2005.

“We appreciate the fans; they’ve always been there,” Alvarez said. “You know, it wasn’t Rose Bowls when we first got here. So through rough times, they were supportive, and through my entire tenure and Pat’s, our fans have always been there.”

Also in attendance at the event was Bucky Badger, who remembered days on the Rose Bowl field and is ready for football season kickoff on Thursday.

Bills re-sign fan favorite defensive lineman in surprising reunion

0

The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for their Week 1 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, which takes place two weeks from today. Ahead of that, they have begun their final roster cutdowns, but have also made an addition to their defensive line.

According to Tom Pelissero, the Bills are bringing back defensive tackle Jordan Phillips.

“Veteran DT Jordan Phillips visited the Bills today and is expected sign with the team later this week, per source,” Pelissero reports. “It’ll be the fourth stint in Buffalo for Phillips, 32, who has played parts of five seasons there.”

The Bills will be without Larry Ogunjobi and Michael Hoecht for the first six games of the 2025 season, as both were suspended for PED usage. Phillips brings some familiarity to the Bills depth on the defensive line, and a veteran presence for several rookies.
