Star LAFC recruit Son Heung-Min is settling into life in Los Angeles brilliantly.

After netting his debut goal for the club last Saturday — a stunning 30-yard free kick against FC Dallas no less — the South Korea captain capped a fine week by throwing the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday.

Ahead of the Dodgers hosting Cincinnati Reds, the former Premier League star stepped up to the plate and launched a finely arced right-handed strike, much to the delight of the fans at the stadium.

Son’s pitch comes just days after BTS star V also threw the ceremonial first pitch in LA. We’ll leave it up to you to decide which Korean superstars’ throw was best.

Travis Hunter, Wife Leanna Announce Birth of Son in Video Ahead of NFL Rookie Season

0

NFL player isn’t the only new role for Travis Hunter this year.

He will also be a father, as the Jacksonville Jaguars rookie and his wife, Leanna, announced the birth of their son in a video posted to YouTube on Wednesday. The video on Hunter’s YouTube page was accompanied by a caption that said “Dear Son, We love you. Love, Mom and Dad.”

According to Alexandra Hurtado and Samantha Stutsman of People, Travis and Leanna started dating in 2022 and announced their engagement in 2024. They got married in May of this year and now have their first child together.

This comes right before Hunter is set to take the field to start his rookie season in the NFL after the Jaguars selected him with the No. 2 overall pick.

He won the Heisman Trophy and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2024 with Colorado and is expected to play on both sides of the ball at the NFL level as well. It will be anything but easy, but he proved at the collegiate level that he can thrive as both a wide receiver and cornerback even while playing both positions in the same game.

Hunter’s health was a storyline for the Jaguars during training camp and preseason since he missed time with an upper-body injury.

However, Jacksonville general manager James Gladstone said Wednesday the Colorado product is healthy and expected to be on the field for the Sept. 7 opener against the Carolina Panthers, per Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union.

He will do so as a new father.

📱 These 3 Mistakes Can Cause Your Mobile to Be Hacked

How phones get hacked

How phones get hacked

In today’s hyper-connected world, your smartphone is more than just a communication device—it’s your wallet, your diary, your workspace, and your gateway to the internet. But with convenience comes vulnerability. Hackers are constantly evolving their tactics, and even a few careless mistakes can open the door to serious breaches. Here are three common mistakes that could put your mobile device at risk—and how to avoid them.

How phones get hacked

❌ Mistake 1: Downloading Apps from Untrusted Sources

Many users unknowingly install malicious apps from third-party websites or unofficial app stores. These apps may look harmless, but they often contain hidden malware designed to steal your data, track your activity, or even take control of your device.

How to avoid it:

  • Always download apps from official stores, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store.
  • Check app reviews, developer credibility, and required permissions before installing.
  • Avoid APK files unless you’re 100% sure of their source.

❌ Mistake 2: Ignoring Software Updates

Updates aren’t just about new features—they often contain critical security patches. Ignoring them leaves your device exposed to known vulnerabilities that hackers can easily exploit.

How to avoid it:

  • Enable automatic updates for your operating system and apps.
  • Regularly check for pending updates, especially for security-related apps like browsers and antivirus tools.
  • Don’t postpone updates just because they take time—your data is worth the wait.

❌ Mistake 3: Using Public Wi-Fi Without Protection

Free Wi-Fi at cafes, airports, or hotels may seem convenient, but it’s a hacker’s playground. Without encryption, your data can be intercepted, including passwords, messages, and banking details.

How to avoid it:

  • Use a trusted VPN when connecting to public networks.
  • Avoid logging into sensitive accounts (like banking or email) over public Wi-Fi.
  • Turn off auto-connect to open networks in your phone settings.

🛡️ Final Thoughts

Your mobile phone holds a treasure trove of personal information. By avoiding these three common mistakes, you can significantly reduce your risk of being hacked. Stay informed, stay updated, and treat your digital security as seriously as you would your physical safety.
