Steelers sign WR Isaiah Hodgins ahead of Week 3 matchup vs. Patriots
The Pittsburgh Steelers are addressing the offensive side of the ball following their Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks — as WR Isaiah Hodgins is reportedly heading to the Steel City.
On Tuesday, NFL Network’s Jordan Schultz reported Hodgins was signing with Pittsburgh — some much-needed depth for the receiver-needy Steelers.
Selected with the 207th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Hodgins spent his first two years on and off Buffalo’s practice squad until the New York Giants claimed him off waivers in November 2022. After re-signing with New York the following offseason, Hodgins played in all 17 games for the Giants — starting in nine — and finished 2023 with 21 catches for 230 yards and three touchdowns.
He would later sign a Reserve/Future contract with the San Francisco 49ers this past January but was released as part of final roster cuts — with the Pittsburgh Steelers serving as his latest NFL opportunity.

Steelers sign former Giants wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins
The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. And while all the focus has been on how terrible the defense has been over the first two weeks of the season, it almost made fans forget that the Steelers have been looking for another receiver.
According to Jordan Schultz, the Steelers are signing former New York Giants wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins. Hodgins’ best year came back in 2022 when he caught 33 passes for 351 yards and four touchdowns with the Giants. He also had four catches with the Buffalo Bills that season before being let go. He hasn’t captured anything resembling that production ever since, as he caught just two passes in 2024.
In terms of finding a proven No. 2 receiver, this isn’t that kind of signing. However, at this point, there isn’t a capable No. 2 remaining on the market. If the Steelers want to make a splash, it will have to come via trade.

Deadly crash blocks Riverside Avenue I-80 onramp in Roseville
An investigation is underway Tuesday after a deadly crash involving a pedestrian on an Interstate 80 onramp in Roseville. Â
The crash happened a little before 11 a.m. on the southbound Riverside Avenue onramp.
Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear, but Roseville police confirmed that a vehicle and a pedestrian were involved. Police also said the incident was fatal.
Police noted that the driver stayed at the scene.
Due to the investigation, police said the roadway will be closed for some time. No estimated time of reopening has been given.
