Jenna Ortega reveals impact of ‘Wednesday’ character in personal life

0

Jenna Ortega has gotten candid about how Wednesday and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice characters changed her personal life.

The 22-year American actress played an almost sadistic character in the hit Netflix series, meanwhile, she portrayed the role of a rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid Deetz, in the horror-comedy film.

During a chat for Vogue cover shoot, Jenna revealed how these complicated characters had impacted her life.

She said, “I’ve been on jobs where I’ve thought, Oh, I really love this lip color. But when I try to wear it afterwards, I can’t, because all I see is the character.”

Jenna also shared that she loves to play with her looks as she still have time, “I am in a great phase of exploration in my life right now, and I don’t want to feel married to any one thing. When you have the opportunity to play, why don’t you?”

In the second season of Wednesday, she reprised her role as Wednesday Addams, starring alongside Emma Myers, Lady Gaga, Joy Sunday and Isaac Ordonez.

Wednesday season 2 part I, created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, was released on Netflix on August 6.

To note, the second part of the popular series  is slated to release on September 3, 2025.

Giants to Release NFL’s Preseason Leader in Touchdowns

0

Inasmuch as a player can have a preseason to remember, Giants tight end Greg Dulcich had one—but it apparently wasn’t enough to keep him on the roster.

New York is cutting Dulcich, according to a Tuesday morning report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. As noted by Pelissero, the tight end was the league’s leader in touchdowns this preseason.

After catching two passes for seven yards against the Bills, Dulcich reeled in a 20-yard touchdown catch against the Jets and added two scores against the Patriots.

A four-year player at UCLA who led the Pac-12 in yards per catch in 2020, Dulcich was drafted in the third round by the Broncos in 2022. He started 10 games for Denver in parts of three seasons before being waved on Nov. 25.

Claimed by the Giants for the end of 2024, he played in five games and made no statistical footprint. The 25-year-old, however, looms as a potential intriguing addition for the league’s other 31 teams after a big August.

Mets-Phillies game delayed by outfield microphone complaint

0

The Mets got a surprising mic check on Monday night.

The Phillies, visiting Citi Field to play their NL East rivals, caused a minutes-long delay in the top of the fifth inning when they claimed they were distracted by the glare off a parabolic microphone in the outfield.

Philadelphia third baseman Alec Bohm raised the issue after he grounded into a double play — which came after righty Kodai Senga was replaced by southpaw Jose Castillo, drastically changing the batter’s sightline with the game tied at 3.

The nature of the delay left plenty of folks scratching their heads.

“This is one of the sillier delays I’ve ever seen,” SNY’s Gary Cohen said.

He wasn’t alone in the gripe department.

“Jesus, both teams are playing with the same set of circumstances. Let’s move on and get the game going,” WFAN’s Boomer Esiason wrote on X, adding, “This Mets/Phillies delay is asinine.”

What caused delay in Mets-Phillies game? SNY microphones?

NEW YORK — It was not rain or lightning that brought the Mets and Phillies‘ series opener to a brief halt during Monday night’s series opener at Citi Field.

After Alec Bohm grounded into a double play in the top of the fifth inning, there was an issue raised with a pair of parabolic microphones that flanked both sides of the batter’s eye in center field.

The umpires came together in the infield and after a discussion, the large dish-shaped microphones, which had been in place for several years according to SNY, were then removed before the Phillies’ next at-bat.

After throwing a collection of warm-up pitches amid the 14-minute delay, Mets reliever Jose Castillo induced an inning-ending ground ball to second base, much to the merriment of the impatient fans at Citi Field.

Buccaneers’ QB Teddy Bridgewater Set to Back Up Baker Mayfield

NFL 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bridgewater is linedup  to serve as Baker Mayfield’s top backup ahead of Week 1, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Per Fowler, the Buccaneers plan to move on from Kyle Trask, who is dealing with a shoulder issue and is slated to be let go with an injury designation. Fowler notes that in such a scenario, Trask would then revert to IR and subsequently look to reach an injury settlement with the team, which would allow him to sign elsewhere once healthy. Bridgewater last saw regular-season action in 2023 with the Lions.
